Public Works Director Mike Casper presented a quote from Wheeler Machinery for a 160JPY-LR Motor Grader. He explained the replacement process for the graders. He has researched other brands of graders, like John Deere, and he doesn’t think there is enough down-pressure for their work. They will trade in a grader for a credit of $42,500. The cost, including the credit, is $475,250. The parties discussed the grader and using Fund 41 for the purchase. Commissioner Chugg made a motion to purchase the grader for $475,250. Commissioner Killian seconded the motion. Commissioner Chugg voted aye, Commissioner Killian voted aye, and Commissioner Miles voted aye. The motion passed.
Public Works Deputy Director Clint Curtis gave an update on the new Public Works Building Site. The original site for the building would need a lot of work and fill. There is mudstone that could cause issues. He proposed to relocate the building and provided a printout for the new location and layout of the property. The project is now ready to go out for bid.
