COUNCIL COMMENTS

  Councilmember Anne Hilton shared that she and her dad recently attended a play at Dayton’s Old Courthouse. Mrs. Hilton encouraged everyone to attend the Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 11 from 3:30 – 7 p.m. at Shafor Park.

  Councilmember Rob Stephens thanked Chief Hill and the Oakwood Public Safety Department for the wonderful work they do on a daily basis. He reminded everyone that school starts on Tuesday, August 13, and wished luck to the Oakwood School District.

  Vice Mayor Steve Byington encouraged everyone to attend the Oakwood Farmers’ Market which is every Saturday through October 12. He also reminded everyone to be safe, and to slow down, since school is starting next week.

  Mayor Bill Duncan recognized the quick actions of the Dayton police officers that saved many lives. He commended Mayor Nan Whaley for her transparency with the media. He then thanked all federal, state and local officials that traveled to Dayton to show solidarity for the Dayton region.
