Discussion on Actions to Take Regarding Air Quality Status in the County

Commissioner Miles explained that the State of Utah and the Ute Tribe applied for an extension of time to continue the study of the rare wintertime ozone within the Uintah Basin conducted by the USU Bingham Research Center. The EPA will move the Uintah Basin from Non-Attainment to Moderate air quality. The study has provided valuable science and information about the wintertime ozone challenge. The Oil and Gas Industry has implemented actions to help reduce VOCs and NOx emissions. The parties discussed the study and the science gathered.

Human Resource Director Judy Stevenson gave an update for her department. There is an AI training for beginners next week and intermediate training on February 19th. Five positions are open: Corrections Officer, Corrections RN, Patrol Officer, part-time Custodian, and Community Development Zoning Specialist.
