She has been the assistant finance director for the last five years. Mr. Klopsch congratulated these three very well-deserving people.
Mayor Duncan noted that Mr. Stephens is Council’s liaison to the Miami Valley Communications Council, and just recently finished his term as chair.
Mrs. Jackson commented on Oakwood’s participation in the Hefty Renew Program allowing hard-to-recycle plastics to be placed in specific orange bags from local retailers for delivery to specialized recyclers. Mayor Duncan commented on the operation and how different items are made of 100% recycled material.
Mrs. Turben shared that she attended and enjoyed the recent city employee picnic. It is a wonderful opportunity for employees to connect outside of the office. She was impressed by the length of service of so many employees.
Mr. Stephens encouraged all social media users in Oakwood to contact city staff or Council if they have a question or comment versus possibly posting false and misleading information. City Council and city staff will listen to all questions and concerns and help in any way possible.
Vice Mayor Byington agreed with Mr. Stephens and added that Oakwood has the finest city staff that would help with any issue. He congratulated the beautification award winners. He shared that he moved to Oakwood because of the diversity and uniqueness of the architectural styles. The pride that everyone has in their property ownership is truly amazing.
Mayor Duncan commented on a change of command ceremony at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base that he attended on July 10. The Air Force Research Laboratory welcomed its newest commander, Brig. Gen. Jason E. Bartolome.
