City of Oakwood Meeting Minutes

The Council of the city of Oakwood, State of Ohio, met in a work session and executive session at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the city of Oakwood, Ohio, 45419. Council then met in a regular session at 7:30 p.m., in the council chambers of the city of Oakwood.

The Mayor, Mr. William Duncan, presided, and the Clerk of Council, Ms. Lori Stacel, recorded. Mayor Duncan opened the meeting by asking all present to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mrs. Hilton advised Council she had read the meeting minutes of the February 5, 2018 and February 26, 2018 regular session, work session and executive session. Mrs. Hilton reported she found the minutes correct and complete. Therefore, it was moved by Mrs. Hilton and seconded by Mr. Stephens that the minutes of the sessions of Council aforementioned be approved as written and the reading thereof at this session be dispensed with. Upon a viva voce vote on the question of the motion, same passed unanimously and it was so ordered.

Mr. Hilton reported that at the January 2, 2018 Council meeting, there were a number of appointments to city boards and commissions that were summarized in the meeting minutes that were approved at the February 5 meeting. There were a couple of errors identified in the summary after the fact, and Council needs to adopt a motion to correct them since the minutes have already been approved. Council also has a couple of new committee appointments, so to clarify the record as to all city boards and commissions, Mrs. Hilton put forward two motions. Mrs. Hilton moved that the minutes for Council’s January 2, 2018, meeting be corrected by the Clerk of Council to reflect the following: Arik Sherk was not reappointed to the Tax/Water & Sewer/Assembly Appeals Board; Sarah Waechter was appointed to the Budget Review Committee; Nancy Drozd was appointed to the Environmental Committee; and Chuck Ellis was appointed to the Property Maintenance Board. Mrs. Hilton then made a motion to appoint the following new members of city boards and commissions: Diane Scott – Board of Health; Susie Elliot – Budget Review Committee; Jill Kollars – Budget Review Committee; Rob Connelly –
