accordance with offer letter dated August 3, 2026, at a rate of $22.50 per hour effective September 8, 2026.
Whereas, the Borough of Somerville (the “Borough”) is remediating the property located Rt 206 known as the Somerville Landfill BDA site, in the Borough of Somerville (the “Property”); and
Whereas, in August 2025 the Borough of Somerville applied for a remediation grant in the amount of up to $1,146,975.00; and
Whereas, in August 2026 the Borough was awarded a remediation grant in the amount of up to $1,146,975.00 in Prod-00323848 from the Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund. (HDSRF) Grant Program through the Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority; and
Whereas, in August 2026 the Borough affirmed its acceptance of this grant Prod-00323848; and
Whereas, these funds are for Groundwater and additional Remedial Activities of certain sections of the Property area along with report preparation.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the governing body of the Borough of Somerville that the above-mentioned grant is hereby accepted and the mayor and clerk are hereby authorized to execute grant documents as authorized representatives thereunder, as the representatives for the Borough of Somerville.
Be It Further Resolved that a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
Whereas, the Borough of Somerville advertised for the receipt of sealed bids for Janitorial Maintenance Services at Police Headquarters (a portion of 85 North Gaston Avenue, Somerville, New Jersey) in accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq.; and
Whereas, five (5) sealed bids were received and publicly opened and read aloud by the Municipal Clerk on July 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Borough Hall, 25 West End Avenue, Somerville, New Jersey; and
