10 County Line Road, Suite 14, Branchburg, New Jersey 08876, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $35,642.25 for Year 1 and $36,919.75 for Year 2, for a two-year total base bid of $72,562.00, together with an Emergency Hourly Rate of $45.00 per hour and a Daytime Hourly Rate of $32.00 per hour for each contract year; and
Whereas, the bid of Affordable Building Services is the lowest responsible bid; and
Whereas, the specifications provide that the contract shall be a two-year (2-year) contract, with Emergency Work billed at the Emergency Hourly Rate set forth in the Bid Form; and
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the Borough Council of the Borough of Somerville, County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. A two-year contract for Janitorial Maintenance Services at Police Headquarters is hereby awarded to Affordable Building Services, 10 County Line Road, Suite 14, Branchburg, New Jersey 08876, in the amount of $35,642.25 for Year 1 and $36,919.75 for Year 2, for a total two-year base bid amount of $72,562.00, plus Emergency Work at the rate of $45.00 per hour and daytime work at the rate of $32.00 per hour, in accordance with the bid specifications and the bid submitted.
2. The Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Affordable Building Services in a form acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
3. This award is expressly conditioned upon the contractor's submission of all required insurance certificates, and all other documents required by the bid specifications and applicable law.
4. The availability of funds for the second year of the contract is subject to the appropriation of sufficient funds in the Borough's annual budget, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:30-5.5.
5. A certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to Affordable Building Services, the Chief Financial Officer, the Clerk-Administrator, and the Chief of Police.
