- During Board discussion, President Norton asked whether the County could take legal action against unfinished homes that create safety hazards or negatively impact neighboring property values. Commissioner Kirouac responded that the County is actively reviewing available enforcement mechanisms and acknowledged that simply extending building permits without meaningful construction progress may not adequately address these situations. He explained that County staff are monitoring permit activity closely and will evaluate enforcement options as permits expire.
- Board members also asked questions regarding the proposed election schedule. The Commissioner confirmed that, if adopted, Supervisor elections would continue to occur during the November General Election, with staggered terms implemented after the initial election cycle. He stated the County intends to provide residents with at least two weeks' public notice before the public hearing on the proposed ordinance amendments and expressed a willingness to coordinate meeting schedules with the District to avoid conflicts and maximize public participation.
