Chairperson Hansen welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Recognition of the National Finals Rodeo World Champions and Average Winners
(9:03 a.m.)

Commissioner Hansen recognized Dean Thompson, the Bareback Riding World Champion, Josh Frost, the Bull Riding World Champion, and Cash Robb, the Steer Wrestling Average Winner. Each champion told their story and thanked their family and community for their support. Each Commissioner commended them for their efforts and hard work and for representing the community.

Presentation of Employee of the Month

Human Resource Director Judy Stevenson presented Deputy Assessor Cory Luttrell with the December Employee of the Month award. Chief Deputy Assessor Ginger Johnson read the nomination letter that was submitted. Assessor Traci Herrera explained how Deputy Luttrell is an asset to the department. Deputy Assessor JR Hyde said he had received comments from the State about the land value process going so smoothly because of Deputy Luttrell's help. Deputy Luttrell expressed his appreciation for the award. Each Commissioner commended Deputy Lutrell for his kindness and patience with the public and the award.

Public Works Update
(9:29 a.m.)

Public Works Director Mike Casper gave an update on existing projects and upcoming work. The work on County Road 29 is going well. They will need to get a right-of-way from some residents for the road widening. They will be installing a fence around the crusher property in Altamont. They have been cleaning up the dumped garbage in the area, and the fence should prevent more in the future. Another company will come to demo a mastic machine. Director Casper has communicated with UDOT about the intersection in Upalco changing the stop sign to a flashing stop sign. They are reviewing and determining a fix for the Antelope Bridge. He is also researching a machine that installs guardrails.
