Deputy Clerk-Auditor Lexie Young presented five new business licenses:

• AR Services, owned by Aaron Rowley, Duchesne, Utah.
• S&JJ Enterprises DBA Keepsake Today, owned by Shonna Sine, Bluebell, Utah.
• Lankford’s Exterior Design LLC, owned by Clayton W. Lankford, Roosevelt, Utah.
• Country Boy Services, owned by Steven Welsh, Roosevelt, Utah.

The parties discussed the new businesses. Commissioner Killian made a motion to accept the business licenses that have been approved by the Clerk-Auditor’s office as presented. Emergency Management Director Josh Phillips gave an update on the oil location fire on Bluebench. The fire started on Friday at a Javelin location and is under investigation. Over $500,000 in product was lost. Several Departments responded to the fire, including Duchesne County, Duchesne City, Altamont, Uintah County, and Marathon Refinery from the Wasatch Front. Uintah County and Marathon Refinery provided foam. The Sheriff’s Department assessed the situation and area and determined an evacuation was unnecessary. The safety system on the tanks worked as designed. The parties discussed the situation and equipment needed to extinguish the fire.

Clerk-Auditor Chelise Stewart presented the January 06, 2025, vouchers, check numbers 167804 through 167872, for $471,876.28. The parties reviewed the vouchers submitted. Commissioner Miles made a motion to approve the vouchers, as presented, for January 06, 2025. Commissioner Killian seconded the motion. Treasurer Stephen Potter presented the 2024 Individual Abatement Report. The abatements are for veterans who forgot to let the Treasurer’s Office know they were still in the area. The breakdown is as follows: Veterans – 2 for $4,910.15, Total – 2 for $4,910.15. The parties discussed the report. Commissioner Killian made a motion to approve the tax abatements as presented. Treasurer Stephen Potter presented a tax adjustment for the Assessor’s office. Parcel Number ending 1101 – the property has been changed to a primary residence. The parties discussed the adjustment.
