Fee Proposal Delaware County Bridge 5 Replacement CR 850 North over Finley-Manard Ditch
Dear Mr. Thomas:
This letter is our scope and fee proposal for GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) to provide professional engineering services to the Delaware County Engineering Department (the Client) for the hydraulics and permitting required for the replacement of Bridge #5 – CR 850 North over Finley-Manard Ditch (the Project).
Project Understanding
This project involves the replacement of existing bridge #5 carrying CR 850 North over Finley-Manard. The existing structure is a single span (26'-0") timber slab bridge. The proposed structure is anticipated to be a aluminum box structure. Hydraulic analysis and preliminary design will assess the impacts of the existing channel alignment and floodplain flow characteristics and convey findings to the Client for a final determination.
The existing channel flows from south to north. The existing structure is skewed 18 degrees to the roadway. Hydraulics will determine if a smaller structure can be constructed at this location. It is anticipated that headwalls and wingwalls will be required for both ends of the structure.
The water feature crossed is assumed to be a Regulated Drain.
Scope of Services
1.0 Topographic Survey
- Topographic Survey will be performed by APEX. Their detailed scope and fee proposal for this task is included in Exhibit A.
Anticipated survey limits are listed below:
County Road 850 North: Begin 250 feet west of the bridge and continue east for 500 feet (survey centerline and edge of pavement).
Stream Survey: Extend 250 feet south and north of County Road. (survey width is 75 feet beyond the top of bank).
Additional Items:
- Get finished floor elevations of any buildings within topo area
- Get local testimony (if available)
