Kevin Yack asked whether the applicants understood the amended conditions.

The applicants indicated that they understood the proposed amendments.

Mike Gottfredson stated that condition number 4 would be amended to require both an instructor and a safety officer to be present when students or customers are on site. He also stated that condition number 6 would be amended to require a 12-foot backstop height at the end of the firing lane.

Motion

Connie Sweat made a motion to approve the application to develop and operate a shooting academy and closed shooting range, with the 17 conditions and with the changes to condition number 4 and condition number 6 as recommended.

Judy Wilkerson seconded the motion.

Vote: Unanimous.

The motion passed.

2. Conditional Use Permit — Ames Peak LLC — RV Park and Commercial Campground

Duncan Kading presented the staff report.

Findings of fact are on file with the Community Development Department.

Commissioners’ Questions

Chairperson Nelson asked how far the nearest fire hydrant was from the proposed RV park.

Duncan Kading stated that the nearest fire hydrant was approximately 1,400 feet away.

Chairperson Nelson asked whether Upper Country Water had adequate infrastructure to place a fire hydrant closer to the property.

Duncan Kading stated that he did not know and that it would be part of the water connection discussion.

Chairperson Nelson asked whether the existing house shown on the site plan was a rental.

Anton Ames stated that it was not a rental.
