Recommendations for Category Formation:

Based on the findings from the hierarchical cluster analysis, MDS, and the similarity matrix, we propose the following recommendations to improve the website's information architecture.

• Prioritize strongly clustered categories.
  • Content items that consistently appeared together across all analyses should serve as a foundation for primary navigation categories.
  • Use the seven identified clusters as the basis for the site's main navigation.
• Refine ambiguous or loosely grouped items.
  • Labels with weak clustering or wide gaps in the MDS plot should be renamed, clarified, or repositioned to improve comprehension.
  • Ensure clear labeling to reduce ambiguity and improve user understanding, particularly in the “Featured” and “Programs & Services” sections.
• Reduce cognitive load.
  • Groupings should align with users' mental models to ensure an intuitive browsing experience.
  • Maintain administration links (the footer menu cluster) in the footer.
  • Highlight opportunities to get involved in a dedicated “Get Involved” section to make it easier for supporters to contribute.
• Test proposed categories with users.
  • Conduct additional tree testing to validate category names and placements before implementing final changes.
