I am reaching out because I received a notice of public hearing for the property 4917 N Wheeling Ave. I have several concerns about the plans for the area.
1) There is already 2 other gas stations within an 1/8 mile on either side of the property. The environmental impact alone should be reason enough, but more so with 2 other gas stations in such close proximity.
2) There is lots of wildlife in the area. There are several deer and other wildlife that live there.
3) My biggest concern is traffic. That area has several bus routes for Muncie schools and Delaware community schools. Construction traffic will make it very difficult for the buses to run there routes and then they will more traffic obstacles once the gas station opens. The stoplight frequently gets backed up during busier traffic times, it will only get worse.
4) Gas Stations bring so much trash. There is so much trash around the Shell and Speedway. Anytime it's the slightest bit windy, there is trash blowing all over the neighborhood. Cups, wrapper, plastic bags, plastic bottles and random trash from the gas stations already litters our neighborhood. We don't need more.
