The Broker shall provide ongoing support to the County including:

  • Development of an annual service calendar with regular review meetings
  • Negotiation of coverage terms, conditions, and premiums with insurers
  • Placement of insurance coverage with qualified insurers
  • Monitoring the insurance marketplace for new coverage options or emerging risks
  • Providing day-to-day insurance consulting and advisory services
  • Review of County contracts to evaluate insurance requirements
  • Review insurance policies for conformity with proposals and obtain necessary corrections
  • Review binders, certificates, endorsements, premium audits, and related documents for accuracy
  • Deliver policies, endorsements, and documentation in a timely manner
  • Prepare certificates of insurance upon request
  • Monitor insurer financial strength and notify the County if any insurer’s rating falls below A- by A.M. Best
  • Assist the County in maintaining underwriting information required by insurers

Claims Support Services

The Broker shall provide claims advisory services including:

  • Providing periodic loss data and claims summaries to the County
  • Analyzing claims trends and identifying loss drivers
  • Monitoring claims handling by insurers
  • Assisting with claim submissions and interpretation of policy coverage
  • Attending claims review meetings upon request
  • Reviewing claim reserves and notifying the County of significant changes
  • Monitoring complex or high-value claims and advocating on behalf of the County
  • Coordinating loss control surveys where appropriate

3. Compensation Disclosure

The selected Broker shall fully disclose all forms of compensation related to the County’s insurance program.

Compensation may include:

  • Annual brokerage fee paid by the County.
  • Commissions paid by insurers.
  • Combination of fees and commissions.

Proposals must clearly identify:

  • Annual service fees (if applicable)
  • Commission percentages by coverage line
  • Any administrative or consulting fees
