Resolution 26-0803-237
Authorizing the Donation of Surplus Municipal Equipment to
the Hillsborough Township Department of Public Works
Whereas, the governing body has determined that the following municipal equipment is no longer needed for public use and has become surplus property:
- Equipment: American Road Leaf VAC
- Model Year: 2000
- VIN: 149TC-2337YM-4021
- Serial No.: JD-0D52-08301-03
Whereas, the equipment is in very poor condition with extensive rust and is no longer practical or economical to retain for municipal use; and
Whereas, the Hillsborough Township Department of Public Works has expressed an interest in accepting the equipment for municipal purposes; and
Whereas, the governing body has determined that donating the equipment to another public entity serves a public purpose and is in the best interest of the municipality.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Somerville, County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, as follows:
- The American Road Leaf VAC described above is hereby declared surplus to the needs of the Borough.
- The Mayor and Borough Clerk are authorized to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the donation of the equipment to the Hillsborough Township Department of Public Works.
- The equipment shall be transferred as is, with no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, and Hillsborough Township shall assume all responsibility for the equipment upon transfer.
- The appropriate municipal officials are hereby authorized to take all actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
Whereas, the governing body finds it to be in the best interest of the municipality to dispose of the surplus equipment through the Somerset County public auction process.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the governing body that the above-described surplus equipment is hereby authorized for disposal through the Somerset County public auction.
