Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Serving as mayor of Oakwood is both an incredible honor and a privilege. As I begin my 22nd year on City Council and my 16th as your Mayor, I am deeply proud of the work being done to ensure Oakwood continues to thrive and grow. Whether it’s our neighborhoods, schools, library, city services, public safety, or leisure programs, our city’s strength lies in its dedicated citizens and hardworking city staff. Together, we make Oakwood the premier residential community in the Dayton and Miami Valley region.
Over the past year, Oakwood has made significant strides in improving its infrastructure and public services. Notably, we completed the Far Hills Storm Sewer Reconstruction and Far Hills Avenue Resurfacing, which improved both stormwater management and road conditions. These projects, funded with federal and state grants, reflect Oakwood’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high-quality city services and a vibrant, growing community.
Oakwood’s services are without parallel. Our public safety department remains a cornerstone of our city. With the fastest emergency response times in the region, Oakwood’s Public Safety team provides cross-trained officers in law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical services. This commitment to excellence has made Oakwood one of the safest communities in the region. Additionally, our Public Works staff continues to provide essential services, including waste collection, snow removal, and routine infrastructure maintenance, ensuring our city runs smoothly.
Oakwood’s parks, green spaces, and recreational offerings also continue to be a source of pride. With four neighborhood parks, beautiful gardens, and a range of recreational facilities, such as the Oakwood Community Center and Gardner Pool, we offer residents an exceptional quality of life. Our library, Wright Memorial Public Library, celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2024 and continues to be a central hub for lifelong learning and community engagement.
As we look to the future, we will continue investing in Oakwood’s infrastructure, maintaining our reputation for excellent city services, and working together as a community to ensure that Oakwood remains a vibrant, safe, and welcoming place for all.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Mayor, and I look forward to working with all of you to make Oakwood an even better place to live, work, and thrive in the years ahead. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
