MARCH - 2026 REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
MINUTES
The Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday March 26, 2026 at 6:00 PM, in the Commissioners’ Court Room of the Delaware County Building, Muncie, Indiana. Chairperson Leslie Mathewson called the meeting to order.
INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS/OATH OF OFFICE:
Ms. Swackhamer introduced new member John Hamilton and read the Oath of Office to which Mr. Hamilton stated “I do”.
ROLL CALL:
Ms. Swackhamer called roll and the following members were present: Mr. Billington, Ms. Fritch, Mr. Hamilton, Ms. Knapp, and Ms. Mathewson. Absent: Mr. Ivy and Ms. Kaiser. Also present: Mr. Wiseley, attorney for the Board.
ANOUNCEMENT:
Being an automatic withdrawal of an application filed by Timothy S. and Tamara S. Collins, on premises located at 4701 North County Road 950 West, Harrison Township, Delaware County, Indiana, as more accurately described in the application.
Ms. Swackhamer stated that this matter had been withdrawn by the applicant and that no further action was required.
OLD BUSINESS:
Being a continuation of a public hearing on the matter of an application filed by McDonalds and Pegasus Future II, LLC., requesting a variance from the terms of the City of Muncie Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to allow a 45’ tall pole sign for a new restaurant on a corridor road, on premises located on the southeast corner of Macedonia Avenue and 29th Street, Muncie, Indiana, as more accurately described in the application.
Ms. Swackhamer stated that the office had received a revised site plan reducing the sign height from 45’ to 20’ and that those plans had been presented to the Board members.
