Ms. Swackhamer stated that the office had received an email stating that Jakob Hanson would be present to represent Game of Homes LLC.
Ms. Fritch made a motion to move BZA 05-26 to the end of the meeting agenda. Ms. Knapp seconded the motion. Ms. Mathewson called for all those in favor to say aye, and all those opposed, same sign. Ms. Mathewson stated that the ayes have it, motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Being a public hearing on the matter of an application filed by Dominyse Davis, requesting a variance of use from the terms of the City of Muncie Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, to allow group housing for up to 4 adults in a single-family residence zone, and to allow stacked parking rather than individual parking spaces, on premises located at 1904 East 22nd Street, Muncie, Indiana, as more accurately described in the application.
Dominyse Davis, 5112 N Hickory Rd., Muncie, Indiana, appeared. She stated that the property currently had a single-family home that she was proposing a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities and that there would be no change to the function of the home. She stated that she understood that the stacked parking was not permitted and explained that there would never be more than 2 cars there at a time.
Ms. Mathewson asked if this was a 3-bedroom home and if they were asking for 4 adult residents to be permitted.
Ms. Davis stated yes.
Ms. Mathewson asked if Ms. Davis would be ok with a condition that there only be 3 residents since there were only 3 bedrooms.
Ms. Davis stated that the back bedroom was larger and that a shared room was allowed by the Department of Disabilities, but if it was only for 3, that was ok.
Ms. Mathewson asked what activities would be happening on the property, who would be living here, and how many people would be coming and going.
Ms. Davis stated that it would be for 3-4 permanent residence, so this would be their home. She stated that the staffing would be split into 3 shifts so there would always be someone there with supplemental staff that could come if there were any issues. She stated that the residents have jobs and could have visitors but that they would not be driving on their own. She stated that many of the residents had congenital disorders, a traumatic brain injury, or schizophrenia that does not allow them to live independently. She stated that the residents
