Step 1 will include the establishment of a Comprehensive Plan Committee (CPC) and an initial meeting with the Committee to discuss ideas and concerns regarding the Oakwood community.

Step 2 will entail several work activities designed to involve local residents and business persons in the planning process. These may include: Interviews, Workshops, Web Materials, Newsletters, Written Survey.
Components: Key Person Interviews, Community Workshop, Other Outreach Activities
Step 3 will entail the collection and analysis of information about existing conditions and future potentials within the Oakwood community. It will be based on inventories and analyses undertaken by the Consultant and City Staff.
Step 3 will conclude with a "Synthesis Report" highlighting the needs, issues and opportunities to be addressed in the new Comprehensive Plan. Agreement will be reached on these issues before beginning to prepare plan and policy alternatives.
Data topics: Demographics, Regional Issues, Existing Land Use, Community Character, Community Facilities, Transportation.
Outputs: Data Collection & Analysis, Synthesis Report
Step 4 will entail the preparation of policies and recommendations for the Oakwood community. It will include the generalized Community-Wide Plan, and more specific plans and policies for key "subareas."
Plan components: Goals & Objectives, Land-Use Plan, Community Character, Transportation Plan, Facilities Plan.
Outputs: Community-Wide Plan, Subarea Plans
An "Open House" will be conducted to permit informal review and discussion of preliminary plan and policy recommendations with the community. The Consultant Team, City Staff, and the Committee will work together to facilitate the Open House session.
Step 5 will entail finalizing the plan, policy and project recommendations, and preparing the draft Comprehensive Plan document. Following the public review process, refinements and corrections will be made to the draft Plan as required, and the final Comprehensive Plan report will be prepared.
