Ms. Fritch asked how tall the existing barn was.
Mr. Collins stated that it was within the 17’ limit and that he was requesting this one be a little taller.
Ms. Swackhamer stated that the existing barn was approved through a variance by a previous owner and was 22’ 8” tall.
Ms. Mathewson stated that she wanted to clarify that this would be for personal use only and that there would be not business activity.

Donald Kerrigan, 6210 N CR 600 W, Gaston, Indiana, appeared in opposition. He stated that he would be interested in the information from the County Engineer because they had water issues and that all of the water ran through that area. He stated that his property was the lowest of all the properties and that they continued to have issues with water. He stated that when they purchased their home the seller was very particular in selling to a family to keep the area residential. He stated that he did not feel like Mr. Collins was being upfront about his intended use and did not believe it was only for personal use. He stated that the size of the vehicles and the buildings would take away from their enjoyment of their property along with other things that had happened.
Doug Dowling, 9601 N CR 600 W, Gaston, Indiana, appeared in opposition. He stated that he had supplied the members with pictures and would like to address some of the things that had been talked about. He stated that Mr. Collins mentioned security, and if you look at his property there was an electric fence all around and no one could get on the property. He stated that the existing pole barn was already tall enough to store a camper and trucks. He stated that he could install a pit in that building so that he could work on the vehicles without building another structure. He stated that Mr. Collins mentioned walking back and forth on 6 acres and if you look, he only had 4 acres and that they had a 4-wheeler they could use to get back and forth. He stated that the reason for the barn was to store his kid’s vehicles and that his youngest was 4 years old.
Jessica Fullbright, 6300 N CR 600 W, Gaston, Indiana, appeared in opposition. She stated that she had been to the November and December meetings and that she had submitted phots and emails and would like to address a few items. She stated that the property had a 2 car attached garage, 4 car detached garage, a storage shed and a large pole building that already made up more square footage than that of his house. She stated that an additional 40’ x 60’ pole barn would increase the accessory structures well beyond what was needed for a residential property. She stated that they had witnessed large vehicles coming to the property which raised concerns that this would be as commercial and not just for personal use. She stated that she purchased her home in April 2025 and had put a lot of money into their home, and that the addition of this many accessory structures
