Dear Mr. McCarthy,

On August 9, 1996 a review was made by this Department of a proposal to install both a well and septic system to service the dwelling located at 156 Sandy Beach Road, Goshen, CT.

The parcel consisting of approximately 40,000 square feet and owned by Ms. Marion Horton is show on a map submittted by Davis R. Wilson P.E. dated July 1996. Deep hole and percolation test date was also included and dated June 27, 1996.

As a result of this material review and field evaluation, we are in agreement with Mr. Wilson's assessment that this parcel can satisfactorily accommodate both a well and subsurface sewage disposal system for a single family dwelling within the area tested. However, certain conditions must be agreed to which are as follows:

  1. 1) The number of bedrooms or potential bedrooms cannot exceed two.
  2. 2) The dwelling must be elevated to a height which will allow gravity flow to a septic tank to be situated 50 feet from waters edge. This 50 foot set-back is a T.A.H.D. granted variance.
  3. 3) Drainage located along Sandy Beach Road must be collected and directed via piping toward the lake along the northern property line.
