Mr. Case stated yes, and that they conducted background checks and those individuals would not be permitted to be in their program.

Ms. Mathewson how often staff would be on site and how supervision and check in would take place.

Mr. Case stated that there would be daily supervision by either himself, Mr. Blevins, or other staff members. He stated that the residents had required weekly meetings and if there was a concern it would be addressed immediately.

Ms. Mathewson stated that there was a unfortunate stereotype surrounding addicts, and asked how they would address drugs and alcohol from outside sources and keeping that away from the residents.

Mr. Blevins stated that part of the program was to try and teach people that if you hang around the same people in the same places, that you would end up with the same results. He stated that they teach that accountability is everything. He stated that they take daily walks, make their beds, and keep their areas cleaned and that he could tell a lot about a person by watching how they work to accomplish those small tasks. He stated that they encourage them to look out for each other and to stay out of trouble so that they do not end up back in jail or worse.

Mr. Case stated that they had a camera system in front of the building facing 2 different directions as well as cameras in all of the hallways of the building that were being monitored. He stated that if there was an incident, they could check that footage to get the facts. He stated that there were no visitors allowed at the facility unless by special approval and that Mr. Case and Mr. Blevins would be present.

Ms. Mathewson asked if they would be ok with limited this to no more than 12 residents.

Mr. Blevins stated yes. He stated that they want to help people and love people and that you need as many people to help pay the bills, but that they would be ok with 12 residents. He stated that this was a non-profit and that they wanted it to be sustainable.

Ms. Fritch asked if the building was currently vacant.

Mr. Case stated the building was vacant.

Ms. Fritch asked if they would expect the residents to have a car or not.

Mr. Case stated that for the first 3 months at least of the recovery time the residents would generally share rides until they could get back on their feet. He stated that there would not be a time that all 12 residents would have a car. He stated that this was a year-long program and that those with a car were closer to graduating from the program.
