Chess Camp

MarinChess’ summer camp welcomes players of all skill levels to learn, play, and connect through chess in a fun, social environment. Campers enjoy engaging lessons, friendly matches, and activities that build skill, confidence, and strategic thinking. As they learn to analyze positions and think ahead, students strengthen critical thinking, problem solving, and focus that extend beyond the board.

Junior Lifeguard Camp

Ages: 10Y-12Y
Instructor: Library and Recreation Dept., Staff
Location: Terra Linda Community Center and Pool

Junior lifeguards learn basic emergency response skills, including water rescues, first aid, and injury awareness, while improving swimming skills and endurance. Participants will shadow a lifeguard, act as extra eyes on the pool, and enjoy daily games, team building, and challenges. Swimmers must be able to swim two pool lengths and submerge to the bottom with minimal assistance. This program is ideal for those who enjoy the pool, working with others, and learning what it takes to be a lifeguard.

Mind Quest: Magic and Game Strategy

IncrediQuest teaches introductory subjects where kids learn life skills by doing and having fun, including magic, where participants learn new tricks each day and explore what it means to be a magician, and game strategy, where they determine the best path to victory by applying strategies that help them play and win games and even get ahead in life.

Mind Quest: Drawing and Detective Mystery

IncrediQuest teaches introductory subjects where kids learn life skills by doing and having fun. Campers will explore drawing, putting their creative side in gear while trying a variety of fun techniques, and detective mystery, challenging themselves to think outside the box while working together to solve puzzles.

IncrediQuest’s full day combo brings together a variety of introductory subjects where kids learn life skills by doing and having fun. Campers will explore magic and game strategy, learning new tricks, smart decision making, and ways to think ahead in games and everyday life. They will also dive into drawing to spark creativity and take on detective mysteries that challenge them to think outside the box while working together to solve puzzles. Free lunch supervision is included and a discount is applied with this full day option.

Action Movie & Pokemon Stop Motion Flix

Ages: 7Y-13Y
Instructor: IncrediFlix
Location: San Rafael Community Center

Action Movie Flix (#9725) - Morning campers will use green screens and camera tricks to create an action-packed film, transporting anywhere from a spaceship to the highest mountain, while collaborating to write, act, direct, and learn stunt choreography to thrill the audience.

Pokémon Stop Motion Flix (#9726) - Afternoon campers will make their own stop-motion movies using Pokémon characters, creating fires, explosions, and floods to bring epic battles or heroic adventures to life, working in small groups to storyboard, film, and add voice-overs.

Action Movie & Pokemon Stop Motion Flix (#9727) - Full day campers will enjoy both experiences for a complete action and stop-motion filmmaking adventure.
