Comic book creation

From creating and drawing a wide array of fun characters, to telling a compelling tale with strong beginning, middle, and end, every student will be guided through the process of making their very own comic book from start to finish! Drawing and storyboarding are made simple through step-by-step examples. Each student will create their own complete comic book in this adventure of character drawing and storytelling!

Create an exciting worlds with your own comic book and characters, paint a masterpiece while learning about famous artists and techniques, and sculp fun characters with colorful clay! This camp includes an outdoor walking field trip to Albert Park.

Jewelry making art supplies

Jewelry making camp w/ Nikki Contini - Get your bling on!

Ages: 6Y-13Y
Instructor: Nikki Contini
Location: San Rafael Community Center

In this creative and fun camp, students will use traditional and unconventional materials to create unique jewelry and jewelry boxes. Campers can choose from a treasure of new and vintage beads and learn to make their own using upcycled and other materials. They will learn to use jewelry making tools, work with wire, and develop skills for making beautiful pieces. Lessons and examples will inspire a variety of customized jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pins, and more, along with display and jewelry box making. All materials are included, and campers will create many works of wearable art to wear and share with family and friends, while enjoying music, making friends, and taking breaks for snacks and outdoor movement.

Oven-baked clay and eco-art camp with Nikki Contini

Ages: 6Y-12Y

Campers unleash their creativity in this hands-on camp, exploring Sculpey clay to craft miniatures, tiny creatures, jewelry, pinch pots, and more, then baking their creations in the oven. With guidance, project ideas, and encouragement to dream big, campers can create sets of characters, props, and imaginative worlds, using Nikki’s collection of recyclable supplies and art materials to bring their visions to life. Along the way, they will experiment with shapes, textures, and techniques, building confidence, expressing individuality, and discovering the joy of artistic exploration in a supportive, playful environment. Perfect for young artists who love to imagine, create, and get hands-on.

Summer fun with clay with Nadia Tarzi-Saccardi

Material Fee: $30 due to the instructor on the first day

Come join Terra Linda Ceramics Artist and Director Nadia Tarzi Saccardi (named best Art Instructor from 2020-2025) will have budding artists exploring ceramics by shaping, molding, clay into creations such as animals and bowls. They will bring their pieces to life with colorful glazes, including sparkly crystal and bright glazes. Campers will learn key ceramic skills such as hand building, sculpting, surface decoration and glazing, all while having fun and their creativity soar.

Making video games is a great way to level up your technical knowledge. Learn strong computer use and tech literacy skills while making a video game you can share with your family and friends. You’ll learn how to navigate a fully 3D, digital space and gain experience with a variety of game development skills. Beginner and experienced students are welcomed.
