But I would guess, I would think people are more comfortable with your department in reporting those things, confidence that the investigation will go well. So that's kudos to you.

Speaker-BI just add, it's unfortunate that this is something we need, but it's fortunate that we have people like you to help those people through those problems.

Speaker-AThank you. I expect that the number is going to decrease over this coming years. Because I've asked the sheriff deputies and some police officers to do more interviews with children in domestic violence cases. Uh, and the reason for that is like tomorrow I've got a preliminary hearing on domestic violence case. The son was a witness.

An interview was not done at Children's Justice Center, so I'm having to call him in, having him testify at a preliminary hearing. Uh, he's a 13-year-old boy because he saw his dad pull over his mom with her yelling at him not to push her again, uh, and mom is recanting because she's afraid of losing. So, but if I had the interview done at the Justice Center, I could have used that instead of having to put him on the stand. So those kind of things are what really would benefit. So let's ask for it to be done, and they're working on that now.

Speaker-Cthe discussion we just had about how important the Children's Justice Department is, making sure that kids in King County are receiving -treated with dignity and respect as they, as they do. I just- we had some discussion at my advisory board about forensic interview specialists, and I wanted to bring that to you, to give you that information, and then hopefully at some point I can come back and ask you, I hope you support that position. But this is- I just wanted to make you aware of our discussion and what I know about a forensic interview specialist. So we, you know, it is important that we do the forensic interview at the Children's Justice Center to obtain information about abuse allegations so that it is done in a way that can be sensitive to the child as well as if it has to go to court, that it is something that can stand up in court.
