clowning, balloon twisting, drawing caricatures, puppeteering, poetry, living statue, and similar artistic activities, and accepting or soliciting voluntary contributions of money or property in exchange for or in connection with such activities.
Performer — Any person who performs, as defined in this section, and accepts or solicits voluntary contributions of money or property in exchange for or in connection with a performance.
Public Place — The premises appurtenant to any publicly owned building, and any public park, plaza, pedestrian mall, sidewalk, or tree lawn, including any public right-of-way.
Public Right-of-Way — Any way which has been deeded to the public or dedicated to public use for pedestrian or vehicular travel, including but not limited to alleys, bridges, driveways, parking lots, parks, plazas, sidewalks, or streets.
Street — All alleys, streets, avenues, lanes, courts, roads, boulevard medians, and park roads in the Borough.
Downtown Area — The area of the Borough within the Special Improvement District established by ordinance and managed by the Downtown Somerville Alliance, Inc.
Programming Event — Any event or activity organized or hosted or endorsed by the Borough of Somerville or by the Downtown Somerville Alliance, Inc., as reflected in the event calendar published and maintained by the Downtown Somerville Alliance, Inc. and on file with the Borough Clerk, or an event that or as otherwise scheduled or designated by the Borough of Somerville.

§ 60-3. Performances permitted; conditions.
