Social Infrastructure

Social infrastructure encompasses the spaces and services that nurture the Social Determinants of Health, promoting physical well-being, social bonds, learning opportunities, and access to care. These elements lay the groundwork for a resilient and thriving community. The following uses establish a foundation for meaningful, community-centered investment at the heart of the neighborhood.

Plan description

North is at the top. Paxton Avenue bounds the north edge; 1300 South divides the north block from the south block. West Temple Street lies west of the site, West Richards Street east of the north block and along the southern edge, and Main Street east of the Neighborhood Field. A Shared Street crosses the upper residential blocks. Homeownership pictograms mark residences in the upper and lower parts of the plan. The fresh-food market pictogram is in the north block, immediately above and west of Creek Park; Creek Park, its creek and deck lie immediately north of 1300 South. The local small-business pictogram marks the former ballpark west of the Neighborhood Field. Gateway Plaza is west of the field; the stage runs along its east edge. The library is at 1300 South and Main Street, beside Library Court, with service access to its south, between the library and the large building immediately below it. Drop-off areas are shown along 1300 South; Emergency Access is southwest of the field, and Fire Station Access is to its southeast. One play pictogram marks the Neighborhood Field, while the other marks the dedicated playground southeast of the field by Fire Station Access. Shared Streets continue through the lower residential blocks.
